What Does It Take to Become a Texas Real Estate Agent?
The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) requires an applicant for an initial real estate sales agent license to complete 180 hours of qualifying real estate education. The required education consists of six 30-hour courses:
Principles of Real Estate I
Principles of Real Estate II
Law of Agency
Law of Contracts
Promulgated Contract Forms
Real Estate Finance
These courses provide students with a broad foundation in Texas real estate, including real property, contracts, agency relationships, finance, regulations, and the forms used in real estate transactions.
Once the required education is completed, students can move forward with the licensing application and examination process through TREC.

A Schedule Designed to Fit Your Life
We understand that many future real estate professionals have jobs, families, and other responsibilities. That's why Lone Star Real Estate School offers both daytime and evening class options.
Our daytime courses typically meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., while evening courses meet Monday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Daytime classes generally begin every two weeks, and evening classes generally begin every three weeks. Course dates and times may vary based on enrollment.
You can also take the required courses without having to wait for a new school-wide cycle, allowing you to begin working toward your education when an upcoming class fits your schedule.
